Zane Kuhle, the artisan behind Pottery By Zane, is a self-taught potter based in Palm Harbor, Florida, & celebrated for his handcrafted, functional stoneware. He is particularly known for his distinctive and whimsical "Zaney Face" pottery line.
Zane started crafting stoneware on his back porch in Florida back in 1988. As a self-taught artist, his style evolved from significant influences rooted in the folk-art styles of traditional Carolina pottery, while also integrating the vibrant, coastal color palettes of Florida.
After taking an eight-year hiatus from his craft, Zane has re-emerged as a full-time, rejuvenated potter in the Tampa Bay area following his retirement from the corporate world. His work is frequently showcased at various local art festivals and events throughout the region.

Zane creates both functional pottery and fine art pottery. His unique style is evident in everything he makes. He purposely makes each individual piece so that its uniqueness shines and it doesn't look manufactured.
Functionality
Functionality is one of the core principles at Pottery by Zane. Durable stoneware clay is used, as well as food safe glazes. All of our functional pottery is Microwave, Oven, and Dishwasher safe.
Fine Art
Raku and Horsehair Raku are at the heart of Zane's fine art photography. After a long time away from this process, he will be creating a new line of work for 2026.

Functional Pottery
Pottery that is Food Safe as well as Microwave, Oven (including Air Fryer), and Dishwasher safe! Glazes reflect the colors of Coastal Florida.
